WHO CAN RECEIVE WIC?

WIC welcomes everyone who qualifies. See if that is you:

  • You might be eligible for WIC if you are pregnant or a mom of a child or children under five.

  • You must live in Louisiana.

  • You have to meet income guidelines. You can see if you qualify here

​WHAT IS WIC?

WIC is healthy food, breastfeeding support, nutrition education and help with keeping YOUR family healthy! WIC can even link you to other health and social services. A Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) is open to women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have already delivered. Infants and children up to their fifth birthday may also receive benefits.

 

SERVICES PROVIDED:

Breastfeeding support and education. Breast pumps and supplies may be provided for breastfeeding moms per WIC guidelines.

Get a Louisiana eWIC card – to pay for healthy WIC foods at participating grocery stores. Get shopping tips, recipes and more that make it easy and fun to feed your family. Learn more at Louisiana WIC

Referrals to other health and social service programs including Medicaid, family planning, food stamps, TANF, LaCHIP and Healthy Start

Group Education classes that teach families to make healthy  choices including health care and nutrition
